Requirements:

  • Familiarity with the greater Owen J. Roberts School District community
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fund raising.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with volunteers, take initiative to solve problems, and work independently.
  • Flexibility and willingness to create and implement new strategies to reach funding goals.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Management, marketing, and computer skills.
 
Job Goal:  Generate significant and sustaining financial support for the enhancement of education in the Owen J. Roberts School District
 
Reports toOwen J. Roberts Education Foundation Board of Directors
 
The Executive Director is responsible for planning and implementing the fund raising and administration activities of the OJREF. The Executive Director is also responsible for promoting collaboration between the OJREF, its stakeholders, and the Owen J. Roberts School District to carry out the programs sponsored by the Foundation.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Fund Raising:
  • In collaboration with the Board of Directors, develop and implement an annual development plan.
  • Identify and cultivate major donor prospects; develop and implement solicitation strategies; prepare and conduct presentations to individuals, corporations and groups about OJREF.
  • Identify funding prospects and develop proposals to foundations and other institutional funders.
  • Manage donor database.
Administration and Management:
  • Oversee the efficient and effective operation of the OJREF.
  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors in strategic planning and execution of the annual operations plan.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to provide oversight, accountability, and evaluation systems for OJREF-supported programs.
  • Financial management: participate in creating the annual budget; administer funds according to the budget; monitor monthly cash flow; and ensure that sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed.
  • Assist the Board of Directors in identifying, cultivating, and recruiting board and committee members.
  • In collaboration with volunteers, develop and implement a communications plan, including publications.
  • Provide advice and support to volunteers and committees.
  • Network and maintain appropriate linkages with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the school district, school board, major donors, corporate leaders, and the community.
  • Serve as an official representative for the OJREF.
