SUMMARY:Free College Planning Workshop for Parents with College Bound Students
DESCRIPTION:Our workshops pick up where typical financial aid nights leave off. We don't just explain how to file for financial aid\, we explain how schools calculate aid packages\, including how much of a family's assets and income are factored in. We detail the rising costs of college\, and we teach parents the financial aid process so they are better-informed and better-prepared. There is absolutely no reason to pay too much for college. \n\n\n\nReasons Parents Attend Our Workshops: \n\n They're worried they won't have enough money to send their children to the college of their dreams. \n\n They think the current state of the economy will have a major\, negative impact on the amount of financial aid available. \n\n They simply don't know how to get all their children through school without going broke. \n\n\n\nAt Our Workshops\, You Will Learn: \n\n To avoid common mistakes that can cost you thousands in lost financial aid \n\n To maximize your financial aid eligibility \n\n To steer clear of scholarship scams \n\n To avoid the typical 5-6 year graduation rate \n\n How you could potentially pay less for private colleges than state schools \n\n How procrastination until your child's junior year can cost you thousands \n\n\n\nPlease arrive early as seating is limited! \n\n\n\nFAQs \n\nDo I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? \n\nThere is no need to print paper tickets. Your name will be on an attendance sheet at the door. \n\n\n\nShould I bring my children? \n\nIt is not necessary for your children to attend\, since it is more geared toward the parents. \n\n\n\nWhat should I bring? \n\nWe recommend to bring a pen and paper. There will be a lot of information that you will find helpful to remember and you may want to have those handy. \n\n\n\nWill there be any refreshments? \n\nRefreshments will not be served at the workshop.
