SUMMARY:'Full Snow Moon' Night Hike & Campfire
DESCRIPTION:We will be on the watch for the 'Full Snow Moon'\, so named by the Native American Algonquin tribe and adapted by Colonial Americans. Occurring during the month of February\, this winter full moon appeared during some of the heaviest snowfalls. Other Native American tribes referred to this same moon as the 'Hunger Moon'\, indicating that hunting during this month was very difficult.  Join us on our watch as we prepare with stories myths\, and legends. Our evening also includes a night hike experience during which we will climb to the top of the hill to view the moon rise. In the spirit of tribes who referred to this moon as the 'Shoulder to shoulder around the campfire moon'\, we\, too will gather around the campfire and enjoy a marshmallow roast! (recommended for those 7 years of age and up)
