DESCRIPTION:Come join string teachers Mr. Raymond Mallari and Mrs. Julienne Ikegami for an information and performance session on the Suzuki Approach to Music Education. This session will include:   A small performance demonstration with Mr. Raymond and Mrs. Julienne!   Audience participation with the Suzuki rhythm in Twinkle Variations!   Informal lecture and presentation on Dr. Shinichi Suzuki's musical education philosophy!   Introduction to Community Music School music lessons & classes!   General information regarding Community Music School Trappe! The late Japanese violinist\, educator\, philosopher\, and humanitarian Dr. Shinichi Suzuki devoted his life to developing a method for teaching music to young children. His method is based on his belief that\, "musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability\, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited." The Suzuki approach teaches young children musical skills similar to how young children learn to speak - through observation and imitation.
