SUMMARY:Women Veterans Day in Pennsylvania commemorative ceremony
DESCRIPTION:As a member of the Pennsylvania Senate and a United States Army Combat Veteran\, I am deeply committed to recognizing the vital role women have played in our state's military history.\n\n In 2022\, I was proud to sponsor legislation designating June 12th as Women Veterans Day in Pennsylvania. This day commemorates the 1948 Women's Armed Services Integration Act\, a pivotal moment when women gained permanent\, regular membership in the U.S. Armed Forces.\n\n To celebrate this significant milestone and honor the service of our women veterans\, I am hosting a commemorative ceremony on Monday\, June 10\, 2024\, at noon in the East Wing of the State Capitol Building.\n\n This ceremony is a special opportunity to recognize the courage and dedication of Pennsylvania's women veterans\, from World War II to the present day.As part of the event\, we are developing a temporary exhibit showcasing the stories and contributions of our women soldiers. If you\, or a female veteran you know\, are interested in being featured in this exhibit\, please visit my submission form online.\n\n The exhibit will be displayed in the East Wing Rotunda on June 10 and will be accessible on a dedicated women veterans website currently under development.\n\n I kindly ask for your help in spreading the word. Together\, let's ensure that the legacy of our women veterans is honored and their ongoing contributions are celebrated. \n\n \n\n \n\n Sincerely\,\n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n State Senator Tracy Pennycuick\, MPA\n\n 24 th District\n\n Berks and Montgomery Counties\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Senate Box 203024\, 16 East Wing\, Harrisburg\, PA 17120 \n\n (717) 787-3110\n\n 56 West 4th Street\, Floor 2\, Red Hill\, PA 18076 \n\n (215) 541-2388\n\n senatorpennycuick.com\n\n \n \n \n \n Senator Pennycuick's offices in Harrisburg and Red Hill are currently open to constituents.
