DESCRIPTION:Every February the triumphs and accomplishments of African Americans are celebrated across the nation by organizations like the YWCA Tri-County Area. It is a time to recognize heroines and heroes from our past\, our present and\, perhaps\, even our future. \n\n\n\nEveryone deserves recognition. Every person who fights against workplace inequality\, every neighbor who registers to vote\, and every volunteer who works with at-risk youth is an unsung heroine/hero of black history\, our history. \n\n\n\nThe advances made by African Americans are the product of people who changed the world with small decisions made every day. The struggle for equality continues. Please make one decision today: sponsor our Black Heritage Celebration. With your help\, on Sunday\, February 10\, 2013\, the YWCA Tri-County Area's 29th Annual Black Heritage Celebration will expand our community's understanding of black history\, one heroine/hero at a time. We hope you will attend. \n\n\n\nDo you know someone who is a heroine or hero? If so\, please read the enclosed information and nominate them.
