Charter Day at Daniel Boone Homestead
Eighteenth-century living history will surround the visitor at the Daniel Boone Homestead as we celebrate the 335th anniversary of William Penn receiving hte charter for the colony of Pennsylvania from King Charles II. Open hearth cooking, baking in the bake oven, and meat smoking will be demonstrated. The blacksmith and gun smith will be working in the historic blacksmith shop. Leatherworking, coopering and broom making will be shown. Native American culture will be presentd by Darius Puff and Robert Mouland will play 18th-century music in the Boone House. The amity Colonial Dancers will present 18th-century dances in the Wayside Lodge. Also, the Bertolet Sawmill will run three times during the afternoon. mars & company will be presenting their American Heritage chocolate collection in the Visitor Center.
