"Full Snow Moon" Night Hike & Campfire
Ours is a watch for the "Full Snow Moon" so named by Native Americans as it appears during some of the year's heaviest snowfalls. Presenters Trudy Phillips and Craig Newberger will prepare us with stories, myths and legends focusing on the owls in our region. We'll learn who goes there and their behaviors for survival, then set out on a hike to the top of the hill to view the moonrise and the surrounding constellations. In the spirit of those who referred to this moon as the "Shoulder-to-Shoulder Around the Campfire Moon" we, too, will then gather around the campfire and enjoy songs, stories and a marshmallow roast. Preregistration with payment required.
