Ted Corbin, is associate professor of emergency medicine at the Drexel University College of Medicine and medical director of the Healing Hurt Peopleprogram. HHP focuses on young people, age 8-18, who enter the hospital with a gunshot or stab wound. To break the cycle of trauma and violence that can trap these youth, particularly young men of color, it addresses their physical, emotional, and social needs after their released.
Dr. Corbin earned his MD from Drexel University College of Medicine and a MPP from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. In 2006 Dr. Corbin was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the “Forty Under Forty” for his work in youth violence. Most recently, he was awarded a Stoneleigh Foundation Fellowship to demonstrate the evidence behind a hospital-based violence intervention program.
