Have a Great Time Playing BINGO & Help Cure Lung Cancer Using the latest 2026 American Cancer Society estimates, lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. There are over 229,000 new diagnoses per year. That is about 628 per day. Over 124,000 people die from lung cancer per year. That is about 342 per day. Of these cancer diagnoses, approximately 10-20% of the people have NEVER smoked. That is approximately 22,900-45,900 people. Known risk factors for lung cancer in never-smokers include radon, secondhand smoke, asbestos and other occupational exposures, air pollution, and ionizing radiation, although a substantial proportion remains unexplained. Two years ago, as a 64-year-old NON-smoker, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. Once I got my feet on the ground again (about 2 months), I set out to survive this horrible diagnosis. My friends and daughter sought to read as much literature as we could and get involved in research funding. So here we are ….. looking to pay it forward. I am seeking your help to promote our cancer fund raising event on Thursday September 10 at 7 PM in the NORCO Fire Hall in Pottstown, PA.
