
Race and the University: Looking Back, Leaning Forward
This first of two events, funded by Ursinus College’s Arts and Lectures, explores the historical foundations of race and institutionalized racism, including ideas regarding education, science and the capabilities across races.
This interactive roundtable will include: Rev. Aidsand Wright-Riggins, Mayor of Collegeville; Patricia Lott, Assistant Professor of African American and Africana studies at Ursinus College; Marcia Chatelain, Provost’s Distinguished Associate Professor of history and African American studies at Georgetown University; and Jasmin Howard, Graduate Student at Michigan State.
A partner event on February 11, 2020 will feature a keynote talk by Howard University Professor of History Ana Lucia Araujo.
