UC Theater presents Rhinoceros
By Eugene Ionesco, translated by Derek Prouse Directed by AZ Espinoza The sublime is confused with the ridiculous in this savage commentary on the human condition, a staple of 20th -century drama. A small town is besieged when its human citizens inexplicably begin turning into rhinoceroses, one after the other, after the other, after the other. Berenger, an indisputably unimpressive citizen of the town, must decide if he will give in to transformation or commit to his own humanity.
