WOW Luncheon
Dr. Karen A. Stout, President of Montgomery County Community College, will be discussing ''The ‘Deliberate Practice' of Professional Development''. Learn about the importance of attending to your own professional development, as a high priority, and how that professional development feeds into the deliberate practice required for high performance (and sanity). Dr. Stout's presentation will be based on the book ''Talent is Overrated: What Really Separates World-Class Performers from Everybody Else'' by Geoff Colvin. This quick read makes the case that what primarily sets great performers apart is their engagement in deliberate practice; practice that is designed with intent, is repeated, is highly demanding and that isn't necessarily fun. Attendees are encouraged to read this book prior to the December WOW Luncheon.
