Highway Design Engineer - All PA Locations

TPD is seeking an enthusiastic civil engineer to join our team. Our ideal candidate has 4-9 years of experience, a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work cohesively within a team and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to engineering project managers on all aspects of traffic engineering and planning.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
  • Preparation of design computations, quantity estimates, and construction cost estimates for projects within the team.
  • Assist in preparing or modifying reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Serving as on-site project representative.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and other consultants on a project team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred)
  • Engineer in Training Certification (required) or P.E. (preferred)
  • 4-9 Years of Engineering Experience (required)
  • Experience using CADD Software (MicroStation or AutoCAD)
  • Experience related to PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver’s Licenses
