What you will do:
The insurance verifier is an experienced health care professional working to ensure that patients’ health care benefits cover required services and procedures. Insurance verification includes all services the health center provides including Physical Therapy, Vision, and Podiatry services if ancillary departments need assistance.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, to ensure necessary procedures are covered by the Provider and /or health center.
- Verify insurance information for new patients and referrals.
- Update insurance information for existing patients.
- Call to obtain pre-authorization for recommended services and procedures.
- Explain to patients what their financial responsibilities will be.
- Answer questions related to billing and insurance.
- Support ancillary departments with insurance verification as needed and/or assigned.
- Perform all assigned duties in a manner consistent with maintaining a safe and respectful patient care environment.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:
Qualifications, Education, and Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or certification preferred.
- Two (2) years medical office experience; insurance verification experience or background required.
- Hybrid, attendance at CHDC site(s) as needed or required.
