Resident Wellness Director (Director of Nursing)

The Resident Wellness Director (also titled Director of Nursing) at Amity Place, an Inspirit Senior Living community in Douglassville, PA, is a leadership role focused on overseeing resident health, wellness, and care quality in a general assisted living setting.

Role Overview

The position is full-time and reports to the Executive Director, supervising the Wellness Nurse, nurses, wellness assistants, and medication aides. The role is central to Inspirits mission of “honoring the whole person—body, mind, and spirit” through Integrity, Compassion, and Love .

Key Responsibilities

• Resident Health & Wellness:

  • Maintain and update Service Plans per company and state regulations.

  • Conduct assessments, wellness visits, and illness visits; identify ongoing resident needs.

  • Monitor 24-hour reports for physical/behavioral changes and ensure complete documentation.

  • Serve as liaison with families, physicians, pharmacies, and external facilities.

  • Coordinate the Incontinence Program and maintain supply inventory.

  • Provide emergency first aid and monitor infection control compliance 

• Team Development & Management:

  • Oversee new hire orientation, staff training, coaching, and performance reviews.

  • Facilitate resident care conferences and complete assurance programs.

  • Foster a positive, professional environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff 

• Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to Inspirits philosophy, principles, and policies.

  • Complete required training and stay current on regulatory requirements 

Qualifications

• RN license (LPN experience also considered) .

• Mid-level supervising experience in healthcare or assisted living.

• Staff training and team development skills.

• Healthcare management experience, including budgeting.

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
