Benefits Specialist

An immediate opening exists for a Benefits Specialist at Pottsgrove School District. This position performs benefit functions for the entire district, ensuring employee benefits are processed accurately and timely and assists with accounting procedures.


  • Maintain all benefits for district employees and district retirees, including but not limited to billings, enrollments, terminations and payments.
  • Serve as Workman’s Compensation coordinator; receive all injury documentation and forward to insurance company.
  • Perform reconciliation of residency as required by Act 80.
  • Perform clerical duties including but not limited to answering phones, receiving visitors, typing documents, maintaining files, and processing mail.
  • Process free/reduced lunch applications.
  • Serve as support and backup for the new student registration process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Administrator.


  • Experience in benefit administration especially in a school environment is preferred.
  • High School diploma required.
  • College degree preferred.

PAY RATE*: $23.45- $25.45
*based on experience commensurate with the position

BENEFITS: Competitive benefits package starting the first day of employment and includes healthcare and pension (PSERS).

SCHEDULE: year round (12 months, 260 days/year), 7.5 - 8 hours per day

Pay: $23.45 - $25.45 per hour
