Job Requirements:
Must be able to follow directions, assemble finished parts with the use of fixtures, power tools and hand tools, overhead cranes and have knowledge of general shop equipment. Tack welding, pipe cutting, threading and general piping ability is required. Knowledge of electrical wiring components and familiarity with standard voltage and multi-phase high voltages is required. Must have the ability to read wiring and piping diagrams to assemble necessary components. Must be able to test various gas and oil-fired burners and controls once installed on boilers as a completed assembly. Must be able to pipe, assemble and wire various auxiliary boiler equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares boilers for final assembly and test fire, by installing piping, electrical wiring, power burners, motors and controls. Uses test equipment to adjust burners for proper combustion set-up. Performs hydrostatic test of completed assembly. Cares for all related tools, equipment and workspace, keeping it clean, safe and in good working order. Assemble and wire control panels.
