Industrial Painter

Overview

Prepares surfaces of heavy industrial structural steel equipment to be painted, paints, and maintains paint equipment.

Essential Duties

• Paints with various types of paint.
• Follows painting instructions and painting specifications.
• Uses properly, maintains, and cleans painting equipment.
• Prepares surface for painting, including sandblasting.
• Mixes paints and primers.
• Paints to specified thickness.
• Paints with special paints and prepares surface for special paints.
• Estimates painting time.
• Keeps paint storage room clean, safe and organized
• Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

• Prior industrial/structural steel painting experience
• Knowledge of equipment, tools including their design, uses, repair and maintenance

Physical Demands

• Ability to climb access and extension ladders
• Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work a minimum of full-time hours; overtime required based on Manufacturing Department schedules
• Hand/eye coordination is necessary to operate equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34,540.05 - $80,942.92 per year
