Lead Quality Inspector

Lead Quality Inspector:

As an integral part of a Quality Control team, Lead Quality Inspectors help define and carry out appropriate tests to confirm products, components, or processes that comply with quality standards and technical specifications. In addition, the Lead Quality Inspector is the primary back-up to the Production Team Leader. Documenting test results, analyzing data, recommending product improvements, and cooperating with leaders, quality inspectors and associates is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to Quality Control by performing: Incoming vendor parts inspection Ø In process inspection Ø Lot acceptance ·
  • Inspect finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Verify dimensions of parts using calipers, gauges, digital indicators, video measuring machines, micrometers, and other equipment. ·
  • Identify problems and issues regarding the quality of the products, and makes recommendations to Supervisor and Production Team Leaders.
  • Lot acceptance testing.
  • Monitor every the process involved in the production of a product, and collaborate with Production Team Leaders to meet Quality targets.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into the quality database; plot test results on graph.
  • Coordinate calibration and maintenance activities with the Facility Manager.
  • Maintain measurement equipment operating and calibrated by following operating instructions, Maintenance log, and calling for repairs.
  • Identify and note non-conformance or unexpected outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Devise and follow through on procedure to handle and dispose of quarantined materials in a timely manner.
  • Meet quality standards such as ISO 9001
  • Work closely with Quality Control, Quality Inspectors, Production Team Leaders, Quality Manager, and Manufacturing Director.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates degree in Engineering field or similar technical degree or at least 3 years of equivalent experience.
