About Us
The mission of the Foundation for Pottstown Education is to raise funds for and support life-changing educational opportunities for the students and teachers in the Pottstown School District promoting the enhancement of our community. Since 1985, the Foundation has helped Pottstown students and the surrounding community by providing funds for scholarships, athletic equipment and facilities (such as the Bobby Shantz baseball field), books, and award winning academic programs such as PEAK (Pottstown Early Action for Kindergarten Readiness) and Dual Enrollment at Montgomery County Community College. We invite you to learn more about the other ways the Foundation for Pottstown Education is making a difference in the lives of children all over the Pottstown area community.
All funds donated to the Foundation for Pottstown Education are used to support programs and services that enrich the education of the students in the Pottstown School District. As there are expenses in the administration and overseeing of the funding process, 90% of the funds given as restricted contributions, other than to the Scholarship account, are used as the donor requests with 10% being used for the administrative costs. 100% of gifts given to the Scholarship account are deposited in the assigned scholarship. An administrative fee of 10% is applied from only the realized gain of the scholarship investments at the end of the fiscal year.
