Montco RISE (Real world Internship Skills and Experiences Internship) program

Dear Employers,

We hope this email finds you well! We are excited to share that the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit will be facilitating the Montco RISE (Real world Internship Skills and Experiences Internship) program. Through support from the Montgomery County Workforce Development Board and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, our goal is to place 20 summer interns at partnering employer worksites for 6 to 8 weeks beginning as early as May 2023. Montco RISE is similar to the former State Local Internship Program (SLIP) that is no longer available. Any Montgomery County rising high senior, high school graduate and undergraduate college student ages 17-24 are eligible to apply!

We are currently looking for employers to support our efforts by providing students with internship opportunities within their organizations. Interns will be paid and provided with worker’s compensation through the ARPA grant funding. Montco RISE is hoping to place interns with employers in a variety of industries, including but not limited to the Manufacturing, Construction, Health and Human Services, Hospitality and Tourism, and Information Technology fields.

If you would like to take part in this wonderful opportunity by serving as an internship site, please complete a brief survey using the link below. Our team will do our best to match an intern with an employer based on the employer’s needs and role(s), as well as the intern’s interests and abilities. After interns are selected in April, a member of the Montco RISE team will be contacting employers with follow up information on a possible intern match and next steps. If you have any questions about the Montco RISE program, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

This opportunity is a win-win for our Montgomery County young adults and employers!
