Pottstown Beacon of Hope Reaches Major Milestone in Building Project
POTTSTOWN, PA – Pottstown Beacon of Hope (PBOH) is thrilled to announce a significant step forward in our mission to build and operate a year-round center to meet the basic needs of Pottstown’s unhoused community and support their journey to achieve and maintain stability. On March 19, the Pottstown Planning Commission officially approved our land development plans—a crucial milestone in the development of our permanent bridge housing center.
PBOH's Bridge Housing and wrap around services center will provide immediate support for individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. This center will offer safe and dignified accommodations, essential services, and pathways to permanent housing through an innovative approach to case management.
“This approval marks a major achievement in our journey to create a space where individuals facing homelessness can receive holistic care, support, and a path toward stability,” said Tom Niarhos, Executive Director at Pottstown Beacon of Hope.
While this is an exciting victory, there is still work ahead. The next steps include approvals from Borough Council, PennDOT, and the NPDES before construction can officially begin. Each stage brings us closer to realizing our vision of a dedicated facility that will provide not only shelter but also critical services to those experiencing housing insecurity in our community.
As we move forward, we invite community members, businesses, and local leaders to join us in this vital mission. Your support—whether through advocacy, donations, or volunteering—can make a meaningful impact.
