TCACC Hosts Boyertown Area Progress Dinner

TCACC Hosts Boyertown Area Progress Dinner

Pottstown, PA – The 2023 Annual Boyertown Area Progress Dinner, held on Thursday, March 2 from 5 to 8 pm, hosted by the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce (TCACC), featured Boyertown alumni recognition and a video produced by the telecommunications students of Boyertown Area School District. The dinner also honored Berks County Commissioner Christian Leinbach with the James K. Boyer “Quality of Life” Award.

One hundred and sixty local businessmen and women, school administrators, and community leaders attended the event held at La Massaria at Bella Vista Golf Course.  The dinner started with a networking and social hour followed by the main program opened by Eileen Dautrich, President of TCACC.

Dautrich welcomed dinner guests followed by Lisa Lightcap, Vice President of Tompkins Bank, who recognized and thanked the event Platinum Sponsors: Community Health & Dental Care and Tompkins; Gold Sponsors: The Body-Borneman Companies and Diamond Credit Union; and the Silver Sponsors: Bally Block Company; Fleetwood Bank; Global Advanced Metals; Herb Real Estate, Inc.; JL Architects; Marathon Capital Advisors; and Superior Credit Union.

TCACC’s Dautrich awarded the 2023 James K. Boyer “Quality of Life” Award to Commissioner Leinbach for his outstanding contributions to the community. Leinbach was recognized for his efforts to advocate on behalf of and support the Boyertown Community. His recent efforts were highlighted including connecting the Boyertown community with much needed vaccines at the start of the pandemic; assisting the Borough of Boyertown in their negotiations with Delaware Valley Solid Waste Authority, and his tireless efforts to support the Colebrookdale Railroad and its continued growth.

Dautrich also recognized the Boyertown Area School District (BASD) alumni in the room, who have stayed within Boyertown area local businesses and the school district. Each person stood to introduce themselves, state the company they are now involved in, and the year of their graduation from BASD.
Four Boyertown Area Non-Profit Chamber Members were recognized in TCACC’s 2023 Progress Dinner video created by telecommunications teacher Bill Cherkasky and his students at the Boyertown Area Senior High School. The four new faces of Boyertown featured were Denise Pulgino Stout of the Boyertown Community Library, Ellen Martignetti of Building a Better Boyertown, Jocelyn Charles of Boyertown Area Multi Service, Inc., and Amy Muzopappa of the Foundation for Boyertown Education. The video, an adapted version of “The Wizard of Oz” story, had Dorothy and friends visit Boyertown area non-profits to learn about the progress of the town in the students’ version titled “The Wizard of Progress.” BASD’s Flute Choir, led by Choir Director Krista Gallagher, also performed during the dinner portion of the event.
