Maria Murphy Receives Financial Award of Excellence from the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services
 
Murphy Was Nominated for Her Work and Commitment to One of American Heritage Credit Union’s Workplace Partners, Special People In the Northeast (SPIN)
 
 
PHILADELPHIA– April 14, 2026 – Maria Murphy, Assistant Vice President of Commercial Operations for American Heritage Credit Union (“American Heritage”), has been awarded the Financial Award of Excellence from the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services. Murphy’s award comes from her commitment to American Heritage’s partnership with Special People In the Northeast (“SPIN”).
 
Through Murphy’s leadership role within the Commercial Operations team, she was able to oversee the opening of 165 organizational representative payee accounts, in addition to the order of debit cards and checks for those accounts. She worked closely alongside Katie Frank, Commercial Operations Supervisor, to execute this task. Murphy’s work was also aided by American Heritage’s Business Development team (who oversee the full relationship with SPIN), as well as the Branch Operations, Information Systems, and Commercial Lending departments.

The Financial Award of Excellence is presented on behalf of the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services. The award is part of the “My City, My Place” Awards which recognize individuals who are committed to supporting “people with intellectual disAbilities and/or Autism to have control over their own lives.” SPIN, the organization which nominated Murphy, “provides people-first services and supports for children and adults with intellectual, developmental, and Autism spectrum disabilities” Murphy will be presented with her award on Friday, May 15th, during the 34th Annual Brighter Futures Awards.
