Ondra Huyett completes blessed trinity addition

Allentown, PA, June 30Ondra-Huyett Associates is pleased to announce the completion of an addition for Blessed Trinity Church at Rosemont at 1705 West Broad Street in Bethlehem.

Designed by local architect, Tom Maloney, the project incorporated elevator service to all four existing floors and a new atrium space with a vaulted ceiling constructed of exposed structural steel trusses.  The final design provided an inviting, and sun-filled multi-purpose space for the various occasions.

The main brick façade, designed to closely resemble the architecture of the surrounding building elements, includes a large, arched window and a retractable pocket door system that gives the congregation easy access to their new patio for outdoor services and gathering in warmer weather.  The patio’s fire and water feature adds a unique element to baptisms and evening worship.

Since the church was to remain available to the congregation during construction, special consideration was required to provide safe access to the facility for the parishioners and staff. This included a handicap ramp, isolation for interior construction areas, and clearly marked egress paths within the building. Existing landscape features were temporarily relocated, protected, and re-planted once construction was complete.
