Rep. Tom Quigley (R-Montgomery) invites veterans and their family members to speak with an accredited veterans service officer at a veterans outreach event that he is hosting on Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m at his district office in the Park Towne Plaza (located next to Dollar Tree in the breezeway), 301 N. Lewis Road, Royersford.
To make benefits more accessible to state veterans and their eligible family members, the accredited veterans service officer will provide information and assistance to veterans and family members. Benefits available through the Pennsylvania Department of Veterans Affairs, given appropriate eligibility, might include service-connected disability compensation, improved pensions, death pensions, VA health care benefits, burial benefits, education benefits, vocational rehabilitation and more.
The bus, where people can meet with the veterans service officer, will be parked in the parking lot adjacent to Quigley’s office off of Oak Street. That same parking lot offers a handicap accessible entrance to his office, as well.
In addition to sharing information about programs to benefit veterans, the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds will also be processing veterans discount cards, which offer discounts for goods and services from more than 400 participating county merchants. To receive a discount card that day, veterans are asked to bring their original DD214 and photo identification.
For more information, contact Quigley’s district office at (610) 792-1280.
