Position Summary: The Events Planning Intern will work directly with the Chamber team to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of various Chamber events, including networking breakfasts, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and professional development seminars. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student who is organized, creative, and passionate about bringing people together. The intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of event management from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day administrative tasks of event planning, including organizing event materials, managing attendee lists, and preparing registration packets.
- Conduct research on potential venues, speakers, and event sponsors.
- Support the promotion of events by helping to draft social media posts, email newsletters, and calendar listings.
- Make and receive phone calls with members to confirm event details and answer questions.
- Assist with chamber event logistics, including setup, registration, teardown, development of new processes.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance the event experience for Chamber members.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a high school or college student in good academic standing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a willingness to learn new software.
- A positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in event planning, marketing, or business is a plus.
