Over 165 Attended TCACC’s Event Featuring a Business Impact Panel
 
 
Pottstown, PA – Three issues affecting businesses were addressed at the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce (TCACC) Economic Development Luncheon on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve. TCACC also announced Governor Josh Shapiro recently signed an executive order designating November as Local Chamber of Commerce Month in Pennsylvania.
 
The Business Impact panel included Bruce Baldwin, Esq. of Wolf Baldwin & Associates, PC who presented on laws regarding Medical Marijuana in the Workplace. Baldwin, who practices business law, employment law and commercial litigation, also offered how employers can minimize the risks through employment manuals and testing policies.
 
Laura Manion, President and CEO of the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry addressed the Childcare Crisis and how this affects employers as much as their employees.  Recruitment and employee retention is affected largely by the affordability of childcare, accessibility, labor shortage and more.  Manion championed the expansion of the childcare tax credit in Pennsylvania from a 30% to a 100% match of federal credit helping 220,000 PA families.
 
Jennifer Butler, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Workforce Development Board, spoke about Training Dollars to assist businesses and cited resources to help employers with talent recruitment and retention. Butler, who is involved in the administration of programing to assist career seekers and employers, also shared information about available funding, and how to connect to career services.
 
TCACC’s largest networking event of the fall was attended by over 165 Chamber Members who represent businesses throughout the tri-county region. During the luncheon TCACC recognized over 25 Members with significant business anniversaries.
