Steel River Playhouse announces summer camps

POTTSTOWN, PA – Summer is just around the corner, and students from 3^rd to 12^th grade have a chance to learn, perform, and have fun at this year’s Steel River Playhouse Summer Camps. The camps are divided into two sessions, with choices for rising 3^rd through rising 6^th graders, and rising 7^th through 12^th graders. Each age group has the opportunity to do 2 different sessions with 2 different shows this year, so register for both camps and take full advantage. Choose from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. or Shrek the Musical Jr., or plan to do both. Camp sessions run for two weeks from 9 AM to 4 PM, with the first session beginning on June 17^th.
Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr.  tells the classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
Shrek the Musical Jr. tells the story of an ogre named Shrek.  One day Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.
Rising 7^th through 12^th graders have the option of studying Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. from June 17^th through 28^th, and Shrek the Musical Jr. from July 1^st through 12^th.  Rising 3^rd through 6^th graders will work on Shrek the Musical Jr. from June 24^th through July 3^rd and Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr.  from July 8^th through 19^th.
The cost for each camp will be $553, with the exception of Shrek the Musical Jr. for 3^rd to 6^th grade which ends on July 3^rd and is priced at $503.  There are payment plans available.
